Itinerary — Tour Vietnam 2 days: TP.HCM – Cần Thơ – Cái Bè (evening)
DAY 1: Ho Chi Minh City – Cái Bè – Cần Thơ
- 07:30–08:00 – Your guide picks you up at your hotel in District 1 for the drive south to the Mekong Delta via the Trung Lương Expressway.
- 10:00 – Arrive at Cái Bè pier and board a wooden boat to cruise the Tiền River, taking in riverside life and the French Gothic Cái Bè church.
- 11:30 – Visit an ancient house over 100 years old, then watch coconut candy and puffed rice being made at local workshops and taste them.
- 12:30 – Enjoy a performance of đờn ca tài tử, Southern folk music on UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage list, then cruise through palm-lined channels to Tân Phong Island.
- 13:00 – Hands-on cooking class at a local home: pick herbs in the garden and make fresh spring rolls (gỏi cuốn), fried spring rolls (chả giò) and a Mekong specialty.
- 14:30 – Lunch on the dishes you made plus the family's own, followed by a sampan ride through narrow canals (about 30 minutes) and cycling or walking around the village.
- 16:00 – Depart for Cần Thơ (about 1.5 hours).
- 17:30–18:00 – Check in to your 3- or 4-star hotel in central Cần Thơ; free evening, with dinner and evening activities at your own expense.
DAY 2: Cần Thơ – Cái Răng Floating Market – Ho Chi Minh City
- 05:30–06:00 – Early wake-up; your guide meets you in the hotel lobby for the short transfer to the boat pier.
- 06:00–07:30 – Boat trip to Cái Răng Floating Market, the largest wholesale floating market in the Mekong Delta; try fresh fruit from a vendor or Vietnamese coffee from a floating café.
- 08:00–08:30 – Return to the hotel for breakfast and check-out.
- 09:30 – Take a traditional flat-bottom boat to Cồn Sơn Island in the Hậu River, a community-based tourism destination run by local residents.
- 10:00–12:00 – Join local families to make traditional folk cakes and cốm nổ (puffed rice), and walk through fruit orchards tasting what's ripe from the tree.
- 12:00–13:00 – Lunch at a local home: home-cooked Mekong dishes made with ingredients from the garden and the river.
- 13:30 – Boat back to Cần Thơ, then drive to Ho Chi Minh City via the expressway.
- 17:30–18:00 – Drop-off at your hotel in District 1; end of tour.
