Itinerary — Củ Chi Tunnels full-day tour (small group)
DAY 1: Củ Chi – Bến Lức (Long An)
- 07:30 – Your guide picks you up at your hotel in District 1 and the minivan heads to Củ Chi (about 70 km, 90 minutes), with an introduction to the tunnels' history on the way.
- 09:00 – Explore the Củ Chi Tunnels for about 2 hours: documentary film, hidden trapdoors, air vents disguised as termite mounds, weapons workshops, a smoke-dispersing field kitchen and B-52 bomb craters. You may crawl through a section of the tunnels (optional).
- 11:00 – Drive to Bến Lức, Long An Province (about 90 minutes).
- 12:30 – Lunch at a riverside farm: bánh xèo, chả giò, pork grilled in lá lốt leaves, lemongrass chicken, fried eggs, minced pork soup, steamed rice and fresh coconut water.
- 13:30 – Ride a tuk tuk through village lanes and coconut groves, pick guavas straight from the trees, then visit a coconut farm for fresh coconut water.
- 14:30 – Cruise the Bến Lức canals by motorboat, then switch to a rowing sampan through the nipa palm channels. Back at the farm, try water scooping with a gàu sòng, walk through the rice paddies and relax in a hammock in the coconut grove.
- 15:30 – Rest at the farm, with time to buy coconut products, dried fruit or fresh produce at the farm stall (at own expense).
- 16:00 – Drive back to Ho Chi Minh City (about 90 minutes) and arrive at your District 1 hotel around 17:30–18:00, end of the tour.
