Itinerary — Huế full-day tour
DAY 1: Huế – Imperial Citadel – Royal Tombs
- Morning pick-up at your hotel in Huế, accompanied by an English-speaking guide.
- Explore Đại Nội, the Nguyễn Dynasty's Imperial Citadel and a UNESCO site: Ngọ Môn Gate, Tử Cấm Thành (Forbidden Purple City), Thái Hòa Palace, Duyệt Thị Đường Royal Theatre and Diên Thọ Residence.
- Visit Thiên Mụ Pagoda on the Hương River: a seven-storey tower built in 1601, home to the Austin car of the monk Thích Quảng Đức (1963).
- Royal Huế-style lunch with dishes such as bánh khoái, nem lụi and seafood prepared to traditional recipes.
- Cruise on the Hương River (Perfume River) for about 1 hour, taking in views of the old capital.
- In the afternoon, visit Tự Đức Tomb, a 12-hectare complex of lakes, pavilions and temples in harmony with nature.
- Visit Khải Định Tomb (1920–1931), blending Vietnamese and European architecture, with porcelain and glass mosaics and a bronze statue of the emperor cast in France.
- Late afternoon, transfer back to your hotel; end of the tour.
