Itinerary — Huế & the DMZ demilitarised zone full-day tour
DAY 1: Huế – DMZ – Huế
- Pick-up at your hotel in Huế and depart for Quảng Trị Province (about 110 km north) to visit the Demilitarised Zone (DMZ).
- Follow Highway 1 to Hiền Lương Bridge and the Bến Hải River on the 17th Parallel, the former dividing line between North and South Vietnam.
- Visit the Vịnh Mốc Tunnels, an underground village dug by villagers to shelter from bombing, with wells, kitchens, rooms and a hospital.
- Lunch at a local restaurant in Đông Hà town.
- In the afternoon, follow Highway 9 to visit Khe Sanh Combat Base and Tà Cơn Airfield.
- Meet the Pa Cô ethnic minority and cross Đakrông Bridge over the Thạch Hãn River, the starting point of Highway 15, a main branch of the Ho Chi Minh Trail.
- Arrive back at your hotel in Huế in the evening, end of the tour.
